MEETING MINUTES FROM JUNE 3, 2025
The meeting was called to order by President Jeff Streit at 7:03pm
Eight members were present, with no guests.
No corrections were offered for last month’s minutes. Jeff Streit motioned to approve the minutes as read. Mike Murphy seconded and the vote carried.
Dan McLaren presented the financials. No questions were raised. Gary Stephens motioned we accept the report. Chris Mroch seconded the motion and the vote carried.
A new member is added to the club – Tom Sapp. Introduce yourself if you see him at the field.
OLD BUSINESS;
Safety Report: Mike Murphy’s safety message delt with li-po battery safety. They can short out when charging, discharging, and in storage. Thus, the safety message is to always store, charge, or discharge batteries in a battery safe. Mike recommends a flame proof battery safe by Amazon
VP report – Gary Stephens reported Swap Shop raffle tickets are available from him. Each member is responsible to peddle 10 tickets (buy them yourself or sell them to friend and family – $1 each or six for $5. Save the club mailing expenses by picking up you tickets from Gary at the field or club meetings. Gary will be putting our standard Swap Shop ad in the AMA magazine. Gary will also get flyers to the hobby shops in the area.
Maintenance Officer – Bob Irish reported the work day was very successful and thanks to all who came out and helped. The fences were repaired. The trenches under the mat have been eliminated (thanks to the hard work of the WMAA folks. All work was done by noon!
Web Site – Chris Mroch reported all is up and running.
Chuck Putney noted there has been no requests for training to date.
Jeff Streit reminded everyone that the Vet’s Picnic is June 21. The vets usually arrive between 9:00 and 10:00am. Lunch will be served to the Vet’s at 11:30. Jeff is planning to cook hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, and have potato salad and macaroni salad. He requests we bring sweets for dessert. Jeff will also follow up with the Vet’s folks about the need for a porta-potty since there is one on their bus.
Jeff volunteered to make new “Keep away from the cows” signs on his computer.
