Old Business

Mike Murphy – was absent due to election.  Phil’s Safety Message was “be Safe”.

Jim Grant – Swap Shop 2019

Jim Herron – was absent but Dan noted that the runway mat, although down, still needs a lot more staples. All additional staples should be placed within an inch of the edge of the seam and running in the same direction as the seam. The outer edge likewise needs two more staples between each existing staple.  I have left the wheel barrow with staples and plungers next to the pin box for use by anyone so disposed.

Phil Shea / Lee Frederickson – Lee says “thank God it is done”. Grass will be added in September.

Mark Schmaltz – IMAC Report – a great success!  19 pilots (6 from KRAM).  The storm Saturday night destroyed any pop ups left up overnight but did not put a damper on the event!  Two rounds were completed Saturday with many compliments from the visitors about the field.  Taco Bar ($5) and pulled pork dinner ($10) were both a success.  Mark noted that AMA had 15 flyers at the NATS this year while we had 19 flyers at IMAC!!!  Proceeds of the event in the amount of $587.85 was presented to the club.  A motion to host the event again next year was made by Phil and seconded by Mark.  Motion carried. (Note – George Orphan is looking for pictures and videos of the event for the promotional video.)

Jim Grant – Report on WMAAC RC Camp July 23 – 25. There were 14 campers who had a great week. The got to use all the equipment at the school then came out to the field for lunch and flying trainers on buddy boxes.  They even built a wing for a high wing trainer between Monday and Thursday and got to see it fly!

New Business

George Orphan –  promotional video follow up – his son will be in town next month and we will be doing interviews and getting film footage for the video.  Please respond if called!

Phil Shea – more staples required in the new mat…

Matt Slobe – made a motion which was seconded by Lee Frederickson to have a “night fly”.  Sept. 14 from 5 until 11 with West Michigan Park Flyers donating pulled pork with attendees asked to bring a dish to pass.  $5 landing fee.  Gas and Nitro fly until 9:00pm with electric with lights fly until 11:00.  Motion carried.

Matt Slobe made a motion to purchase a fire pit.  Lee Frederickson seconded the motion.  Motion approved to spend up to $150.  Matt to bring back specifics to the next meeting.
