Old Business

Mike Murphy – Safety Message – be a friend, let him use your chicken stick rather than crank by hand.  Never point your antenna at the aircraft – that is the weakest signal! Be careful of your antenna – replace if damaged. Range check your transmitter at 30 paces using the “range check mode” on the transmitter.  Always check your transmitter batteries – weak batteries can go to bad quickly…

Jim Grant – Swap Shop 2019 – all is moving along.

Report on the Poker event and tailgate swap meet – very light turnout – total of 10 people.  6 flyers, two cooks and 2 observers.  Only Lee had anything in the trunk…  Mike Murphy, Danny Osborn, and Jim Herron won the $$$.

Jim Herron – Maintenance Comments – mower deck leveling bolt replaced and all is running well.

Phil Shea / Lee Frederickson – runway leveling and replacement plan –

  • July 2 after a short club meeting we will be pulling up the old mat. This will have to continue until complete because the following week the bulldozer will arrive.
  • The new mat will be laid as soon as possible after the 8th.
  • Dan McLaren – reported the mat is ordered. Everyone who can should answer the call when it comes!!!

George Orphan – promotional video follow up

New business

Phil Shea – G E Aviation request

  • Dan McLaren – AMA’S response to the GE request was very favorable.  Brian Thomas was tasked with being sure the GE folks could meet our requirements and also with checking with the farm to be sure they would be happy with the arraignment.

It appears we are in uncontrolled airspace so we continue doing what we have been doing until FAA or AMA tells us differently.

Dave Kingma asked “what do we want to be” when we grow up as a club.  A lot of discussion about social media and the use there of.  Dave Kingma, Brian Thomas and George Orphan were tasked to bring back a proposal.
