The Financial Report was presented by Dan McLaren.  The Field Renovation fund is now a separate savings account.  $1500 was transferred from our checking account into the savings account and three members have made significant contributions raising the balance to $2,500.  Contributions made out to KRAM can be sent to me with a memo “for field renovation”.

Motion to accept by: Jim Grant
Seconded by:  Matt Slobe

Old Business

Mike Murphy – was working the election so Phil’s Message was BE SAFE.

Jim Grant – gave a Swap Shop update.  The ad is in the AMA Magazine (date is off by a day but will be corrected next month).  53 members have received their raffle tickets to sell and $200 has already been returned.

Lee Frederickson gave combat update.  Last two contests were August 12 at KRAM and August 15 at Holland.  There were 21 pilots at Holland and 1600 points awarded at the last Holland event.

Mark Schmaltz – IMAC 2018 final report detailed 12 participants – 6 KRAM members and six non KRAM members. Matt Slobe finished first in Sportsman Class while Phil Shea finished first in Basic followed by Lee Frederickson, Dave Pierce, and Evelyn Kralt.  A taco lunch and spaghetti dinner rounded out the event and contributed $140.95 to the club.  Mark thanked all who helped out at the event.

New Business

Dan McLaren – see above in Financial Report.

Mike Grady reported he finished in 5th place with the Mig at Top Gun this year and the failure of the drop tanks to drop cost him 2nd.  The B-17 finished 4th.  Mike noted that there is concern about sponsorship next year so we will have to wait and see if there is another Top Gun event next year…

Matt Slobe made a motion to support having an IMAC event again next year.  Dave Pierce seconded and the motion carried.  Date to be established.

Lee Frederickson made a motion (seconded by Mark Schmaltz) to change the Sunday hours of operation from 11:00 am to 9:00 am for gas and glow engines (already 9:00am for electrics).  After much discussion about noise and the local environment and proximity of neighbors and churches, the motion carried 7 in favor to 5 apposed.

Lee Frederickson noted the red tractor appeared to need blades and the belt was squealing and throttle was sticking and suggested taking it in for maintance.  Dave Peirce made a motion to authorize up to $300 in repair work to be done at Caledonia Rent All.  Matt Slobe seconded the motion. Motion carried.  Jim Herron volunteered to take care of it.

Phil Shea wanted everyone to think of ways to increase attendance of events at the field.  Fun fly, poker fun fly, ???.  Lee noted that there is a general decrease in attendance of events that require travel and not many people attend events at clubs other than their own.   Bring your ideas to the next meeting…

Phil Shea – coming events

Club Picnic – August 11
Vets Fly In – September 8
Swap Meet – October 28

Show and Tell – Dave Pierce showed off a very nice Sig Cobra while Phil showed his “in the bones” Aero Master.  Nice to see building…

Next meeting: Sept. 4, 2018 at 7:00pm AT THE FIELD

Meeting adjourned at 8:20
