Old Business

Mike Murphy – Safety review – be safe, do not be stupid

Dan McLaren

The field was rolled – same folks that used to do it for us…
Wind socks in place – thanks for help Danny Osborn and Jim Grant.

Mark Schmaltz – The field clean-up day of April 29 got fences repaired and the runway mat repaired with dirt added underneath where the washout existed.

Mark Schmaltz – discussion on visitors, flight line protocol and visitor fee was tabled for the time being since no further disruptions have taken place.

New Business

Lee Frederickson – proposal to have a FPV drone race at the field was tabled for the time being until we see how the event goes at Saranac.

Mark – Memorial Fly In is this Saturday, June 10. Please bring a dish to pass to compliment the burgers, brats, and dogs that will be served. Set up for the event starts at 8:00am – Help with set up and tear down is always welcome.

Dan McLaren – Mike Grady reports he did very well again this year at the Top Gun competition. He won Second in Team Scale with the MiG-15b and Third place and best Multiengine in Unlimited with the B-17. Well done Mike!!!

Danny Osborn requested guidance on what to do with the trainer plane that Lee Frederickson ended up with in a trade that he donated to the club. Direction was to keep using for training and maybe get someone to recover next winter (if it survives.)

Phil Shea brought up a discussion about the club financially supporting the IMAC event. Last year’s event cost Mark Schmaltz about $150 out of pocket. Mark states that it costs about $400 to run the event which includes about $200 for trophies. Thus it would take ten contestants (registration is $40 per flyer) to break even. Allen Simpson made a motion that the club underwrite the event to $200. Motion was seconded and carried.

Mark – coming events

6/10        KRAM Memorial Fly IN
7/15-16  KRAM IMAC (Mark reports they plan to have a roast pork dinner, campers will be on site Wednesday thru Sunday, volunteer if you wish to help out, practice will be Friday with competition on Saturday and Sunday.
8/19         KRAM Club Picnic
9/16         KRAM Vets Fly In

Show and Tell –

Matt Slobe and Madelynn Benedict showed off the Cessna 182 that they finished after Phil Shea gave them the kit that his dad had started years ago. They did a nice job replicating the WMAA plane with graphics by Jim Herron

Les Brown displayed a Tomcat F14 produced by Freewing. Has servo driven swept wing capability. When the wing is sweeping back or forward, the ailerons lock out so they do not jam during the sweep. Lots of neat features – we all cannot wait to see it fly.

Next meeting: July 11, 2017 at 7:00pm AT THE FIELD (note date change – first Tuesday falls on the 4th of July so we pushed the date back one week due to travelers…)

Meeting adjourned at 7:32

Motion by: Mark Schmaltz
Seconded by: Allen Simpson

Respectfully Submitted,

Dan McLaren
