Old Business

Mike Murphy discussed flight line etiquette. Beware of your surroundings. Beware of pilots on the runway retrieving their planes. Call out landings, low passes and touch-and-goes well before performing such maneuvers. Also please remember that we are all Safety Officers – if you see something unsafe, speak up!

Lee Fredrickson has purchased the pre-emergent and has spread it..

Mark Schmaltz announced field clean-up day is April 29 at 9:00am with a rain day of May 13

Mark Schmaltz announced that we have purchased Lee Fredrickson’s tractor.

Dan McLaren announced that AMA has notified us that we continue to be certified as a “Gold Leader Club”

Lee Fredrickson will check on availability of the farm roller.

New Business

Dan – Club Dues are now past due. For those delinquent, a renewal form should be filled out and returned to me with you check for $75 ($50 for associate members). All delinquent members will be removed from the mailing list and roster effective April 15.

Dan-road into the field is in very bad condition. Small, low vehicles are in jeopardy of getting stuck. The farm has put out barrels along the north side of the drive to keep people off the planted field. Please do not use the road until it dries out! And please do not drive on the planted field-North or South!

Lee Fredrickson motioned that we purchase a $499.00 field generator from Harbor Freight. (Actual cost with two year warranty and set up was $607.75)

Motion carried

THERE FOLLOWED A MOTION THAT WAS OUT OF ORDER. THE BY-LAWS OF THE CLUB UNDER SECTION III IDENTIFIES EIGHT CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP AND THE COST OF EACH. THERE IS NO SUCH CLASSIFICATION OF “COMPLIMENTARY FAMILY MEMBERSHIP”. THUS THIS MOTION IS OUT OF ORDER. Should the club want to create such a membership classification it would have to follow the process as defined under section VI of the By-laws (which cannot happen until October of this year). Rule #47 of Robert’s Rules of Order states “Votes that are Null and Void even if Unanimous. No motion in order that conflicts with the laws of the nation, or state, or with the assembly’s constitution or by-laws, and if such a motion is adopted, even by a unanimous vote, it is null and void.” Thus the motion struck from the minutes.

There followed a very energetic discussion about visitors, flight line protocol and a $5.00 fee for any visitor who wants to fly. Mark will talk to other clubs and we will have more discussion next month.
