Old Business
Lee reported that 17 members had made financial pledges amounting to $1390.  Of this, $1000 has been collected.  Anyone who still wants to make a donation for field improvements and sending a student to Camp AMA can get their donation to Lee or send it to the Club Treasurer.  All amounts, big and bigger, are appreciated!

Dan reported that the roster of club members on the Club website is up to date and correct.  Anyone who has not renewed their membership has been dropped from the club roster.

Dan Osborn reminded everyone that the Spring Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 with happy half hour from 6:30 to 7:00 with dinner following.

Lee reported on the Board of Directors meeting with a proposed resolution for micro, foamy, and quad flying.  A flying area will be marked out at the south west end of the parking area where small planes and quads that cannot fly within the pattern of the big planes can safely be flown.  Basic field rules and rules for visitors, especially those with large quads, apply for this area.

Lee* – reported the shelter floor will be dug, sanded, wired and rebarred, with 2×10 around the outer edges and poured to a depth of 4 inches for $1800.
Jim Heist* – Start up stand repair and assembly of new stands is moving along and will be complete by 5/2.
Jim Heist – report on field rolling – frost laws are expected to be lifted by the end of the week so rolling will take place within the next couple of weeks.
Mark Roddy – estimated date of work and completion for wire installation for field charging is May 2.  The generator will be placed at the outside south west corner of the garage with the plugs to be placed at the first fence post to the west of the wind sock (eliminates risk of carbon monoxide build up or fire risk from batteries).
Lee Lubbers* – report on fence repair work – May 2 work day – materials available in garage for flight line fence and straightening.
Dave Kingma – chair replacement is put on hold at this time.

Lee – field clean up and work day is May 2 – 10am.  Also, the farm is going to do a little fixing of the road.  Lee offered to buy a load of gravel if necessary but he does not think it will be necessary.

Dan – the outhouse will be placed on May 1 and removed on November 30.

Guest Speaker:
The April speaker was Colonel Evan Roelofs USAF Retired on Military Jet Aviation.  He captivated the group as he spoke of his time in the Air Force and his experiences flying the F15.  Speaking off the top of his head, he gave us all kinds of information about the weapons (8 external missiles), flight speeds ranging from 350mph to .9mac, cursing altitude of 35,000 feet, and cost to the tax payer of about 100K per flight.  Excellent speech, thank you Evan!

May speaker is Steve Barr with show and tell at the field with FPV quad
Mark Roddy – lessons on better use of telecommunication between club
members.

Nik Zinsli reported that this year’s raffle plane will be an AJ Laser.  Hobby World has donated the motor, speed controller, and servos.  Show our thanks by shopping local and saying “thank you” to Butch / Jeff next time you are in the store!

Show and Tell
Jim Grant showed a nicely completed Bridy Utter Chaos with a Craft engine.  The maiden flight will be soon!

Matt Slobe showed off the progress on his Extra 300.  Fuse is complete and the wings are joined – not far to go now!
