Old Business:
Brian Thomas reported on the Memorial Fly-In.  A little rain did not dampen the spirits of the 27 folks who enjoyed the day.  $35 collected in food donations.  Only Brian had a wind related flight mishap and it was a total!

Danny Osborn reported on TAG day.  Although windy, we had 18-19 students, mostly adults, enjoy the simulation and training flights.  Food donations were $54. (It was also noted that it was Danny’s birthday so good wishes were expressed.)

New Business:
Nik announced there would be No Big Bird Salute on June 13 – no time to plan.  Maybe next year…  Nik and Brian will look at the calendar for a date in July that can be used for IMAC practice.  More to come…

Nik noted that Joel Goldberg donated a “Slow Poke” to the club.  Danny Osborn volunteered to clean it up and give it a little TLC and the club would run a Dutch Auction at the Vet’s Fly In in September with the proceeds going to the benefit of the club.  Thanks Joel!

Nik reminded everyone that June 28 at 10:00am is our first Fun Fly of the year.  Danny Osborn promised there would be no “egg drops”!!!

Nik led a discussion about putting a float in one of the local July 4 parades in the area to drive interest in the hobby and the club.  After much discussion no decision was reached since it seemed like possible parade dates conflicted with previously scheduled activity.  Likewise, no members were stepping up to chair the committee charged with getting volunteers to make it happen…

Nik noted that pit and taxi way safety needed to be addressed.  Planes are to be carried from the start up stands or pushed by the tail to the taxiway.  Likewise, returning planes should have their engine shut down as they come through the fence line and then pushed or carried back to the startup area.  NO TAXIING IN THE PITS!

Mark Schmaltz introduced Brian & Cheryl Pratt who are the owners of FanDangled, which is a business located in Lowell that does embroidery and sublimation.  They can take any image and transfer it to mugs, plaques, shirts, sweat shirts, jackets, etc.  Their web site is not yet complete but they will be delighted to discuss products and prices – give them a call at 616-897-0697 or 616-558-6889. The club is considering them for our IMAC plaques.

Nik noted that Mike Grady was awarded Third Place – Team at the Top Gun competition in Florida.  Mike’s entry was an electric 68 inch span Mig-15bis which was built from a BVM kit and powered by a BVM electric ducted fan.  Congratulations Mike!!!

Nik noted coming events:  CARDS Warbirds Over Michigan event 6/5-7:  ICMC IMAC 6/7-8;  XFC at Muncie 6/14-15;  TRAMPS fly in 6/28-29 (Traverse City)

Show and Tell
Jarrett Heileman showed off an MX2 EG Aircraft that he will be mounting a DLE 30cc gas motor in shortly.

Nik showed off his nice, new Toledo purchase – a DA70 Twin.  It will be mounted in a 93 inch AJ Laser 230z. (As a result of this purchase, he has a nice new-in-box DA85 for sale!  If you have a need, give him a call.)

50/50 for June was won by Ed Bradley in the amount of $15.

The June attendance winner was Ed Bradley who selected a glow starter.  (Not a misprint – Ed won both drawings!!!)

Next meeting: July 1, 2014 at 7:00pm at the flying field.
