OLD BUSINESS:
Nik will send out an email soon with the proposed categories to use the left over IMAC plaques.  Respond to the email with your proposed winners!

Nik made a motion to elect the following as club officers for 2014 – all positions are uncontested.  Dan McLaren seconded the motion.  Vote Carried.
    President:        Nik Zinsli
    Vice President:    Dave Pierce
    Assistant Vice President:  George Orphan
    Secretary / Treasurer:    Dan McLaren
    Safety Officer:        Ed Bradley
    Field Maintenance Officer:  Ed Fowler
    Social Director:    Brian Thomas
    Web Master:        Nik Zinsli

Dan McLaren reminded all that Dues are Due!   Fill out the “club member renewal form” from the web and send with $75 to address shown on form.  Do this and renew AMA before January 1 to be legal for New Year’s Day Fly In

Nik had a short discussion on 2014 raffle plane – he wants to do a little research to see if past history gives us any key to the size and type of plane that generates the most interest.  More to follow.

NEW BUSINESS:
George Orphan offered the club a 500 pound roller if we wanted it.  All we need to do is transport it from his house to the field.  It could not be towed with our mower so a small tractor or 4 wheeler would have to be utilized to tow it around the field.  Membership agreed we should accept George’s donation.  Thanks George!

George also noted that David Fronze had called him to tell him that he had sold an airplane at the swap shop but the buyer had walked away with the fuselage but had forgotten the wing!  If anyone hears someone recounting such a situation, get them in touch with George – the wings are still available!
Dan McLaren made a motion to again give four fruit baskets (two neighbors, landlord, and field roller) to our neighbors and benefactors.  Dan would ask Dave Kingma to coordinate purchase and delivery.  Cost is not to exceed $450.  Jim Heist seconded the motion and it carried.

Nik reminded everyone of the New Year’s Day Fly In.  Starts at noon – bring some food to share if you care to.

Swap Shops coming up in the near future:
    K-zoo is January 18, 2014
Chesaning is February 9, 2014 (Sunday)
    Skymasters is February 14, 2014

SHOW AND TELL:
George Orphan showed a twin four stroke.  He questioned if it seemed right that the engine had a compression, compression, exhaust, exhaust sequence.  After a little discussion it was decided that was the correct sequence for the twin.

Matt Slobe and Ryan Gallagher showed off two of three Pronto 3 channel planes (Isaiah McConnon is building the third) that they are building under the direction of Dan Osborn at WMAA.  Although they are the same plane, they are taking pains to make them all slightly different.  Nice job guys!

Dave Pierce showed a nice Balsa USA Stick – similar to the one he learned to fly with back in 1978!

Nik showed two new Depron Foamy planes – the McFoamy X…the latest and greatest from West Michigan Park Fliers.  After putting about 20 hours into painting the first one, he decided he better do another to nock around the gym with!  Very nice work!  He uses the $1 acrylic bottles and thins it for use in his air brush.  He also suggests Design Master Floral spray paint if you don’t want to use an airbrush.

50/50 for December won by yours truly!  Nik had added a club year-end bonus of $20 to the pot so the winner got $35.  I gave the club back the bonus and only kept your money!   Thank You!!! (ed: What I didn’t tell Dan, was that this is his yearly salary!! hehe. Hey wait, that’s more than I got!! )

For December attendance we drew five names:
Allen Simpson took a bottle of CA
Roger Ausema took a servo extension
Jim Heist took a speed controller
Ed Buck took a glow plug
    George Orphan took a prop
