OLD BUSINESS:
Nik – Riders Hobby Shop presentation delayed due to Terry being ill.

Nik –  Winter(read: spring) build nights – good progress has been made. Wings are ready to join and fuselage has the engine mounted and ready for fin attachment. Build nights will continue every week (except meeting weeks), but now on TUESDAY evenings! Please update your calendars, and come out to help us get this bird done.

Nik –  Indoor flying has now completed for the winter. Turnout was as high as 25+ pilots, and as low as about 15 near the end. Each week showed a decent handful of spectators as well. WMAA gym was a great resource for us and fellow pilots during the winter and it helped raise money for the WMAA R/C club. A possible indoor fly might happen mid-summer.

Nik – The annual KRAM banquet will be on April 20th. Please RSVP to Danny & Roz *NOW* so Branns can plan room allocation. $13.69 gets you a choice of 4 meals with salad & coffee. A great way to meet other members that you might not see out on the field.

Nik – No news to speak of on the AMA flying site grant yet. A trip to Menards during their closing sale netted no useful materials for our project.

Nik – Our first annual IMAC contest will be here before you know it. If you’re interested in competing, the pattern for the Basic level can be found here – http://www.mini-iac.com/Portals/0/Downloads/Sequences/2013/2013_BASIC.pdf. Other patterns and IMAC information can be found throughout the www.mini-iac.com site. Email Nik if you’re interested in competing for more details and registration info. Lots of volunteers will be needed to staff the event, so please mark your calendars.

Nik – West Michigan Park Flyers threw a great “Appreciation Fun-Fly” event at WMAA last month that included balloon popping combat, limbo, and a gauntlet for the final 4 contestants. Lots of prizes were won and everyone had a good time.

Nik – The new hobby shop membership discount flyer & sticker program has been launched. You will see the stickers on trainer planes in both hobby shops. If you see the new flyer in someone’s hand at the field, let an officer know or email Nik so we can track its’ progress.

NEW BUSINESS:
Nik – A meeting with the landlords finally took place. We have a green light on building the storage addition to our shelter, the possibility for chain-link fence, and a sign at the end of the road. The new lease will be signed shortly which should lock in our rent for the next five years. All said and done, they had no complaints about the club and were happy to have us.

Danny – TAG Day is coming up on April 27th. Volunteers will be needed to setup, talk to the guests, help out with the simulators, registration table and food. This is our main chance to attract some new members from the general public, so please come and help! Feel free to bring a plane to show-off and possibly fly during lunch-break. Also, please bring some old magazines that are taking up space in your closet! Wear your nametags if you have one.

Nik – Reminder that we have several club resources available now including some excellent reading material on various R/C subjects, which are currently stored at WMAA. See George Pavey if you would like to borrow one. We also have a membership to the Model Airplane News website. Email Nik for the login credentials.

SHOW AND TELL:
Jarrett showed his new Mini McFoamy X  from West Michigan Park Flyers. It uses the electronics from a UMX Micro plane. It’s depron and carbon fiber construction and uses a 2s 200mah lipo. He says it flies great both slow and fast.

Danny listed off some items that are for sale that were gotten from a storage unit auction. Several engines, servos and planes(all need some work) are available for CHEAP. If interested, call Danny.

March attendance winner was Ed Bradley who took home a new fuel tank.

Next meeting: May 7th, 2013 at 7:00pm at West Michigan Aviation Academy

Unofficial meeting officially adjourned at 7:35
Respectfully Submitted
