Minutes of the March 5, 2013 Meeting

Review of the Minutes of the February meeting produced no additions, deletions, or changes.

Financial Report presented by Dan McLaren produced no questions.

No New Members were added this month. Current membership stands at 53 regular, 4 lifetime, 2 associate, and 4 junior for a total of 63 members.
OLD BUSINESS:
Nik – Riders Hobby Shop presentation scheduled for the April meeting
Nik – reminder of winter build nights – will meet every week except club meeting week during March and April to finish the plane.
Nik – reminder of indoor flying dates of 3/9 and 3/23.
Nik – reminder George Pavey is sponsoring a Boy Scout Merit Badge program on March 9 and would appreciate a few planes for static display. March 9 is also an indoor flying day so come and display and fly!
NEW BUSINESS:
Dan – 18 members from last year have failed to renew their membership as of this date.
Nik / Dan – we have applied for an AMA Flying Site Grant to help construct the addition on the shelter. A unanimous show of support was displayed for the proposed 24 x 20 “garage” addition that will allow all KRAM owned assets to be stored at the field for immediate use and eliminate the storage at the barn. A motion was also made by George Orphan and seconded by Nik Zinsli to authorize spending up to $2500 for required building material from Menards during their store closing sale. Motion Carried.
Nik informed everyone of the WM Park Flyers Appreciation indoor fun fly – March 15 from 6 – 11pm @ WMAA. It is free – come fly indoors Friday evening. There will be competitions and prizes.
Nik informed everyone of the KRAM banquet scheduled for Saturday April 20 at Brands on Division. Invitations were handed out to all present at the meeting and all others were mailed on Wednesday. Please RSVP to Danny and Roz Osborn ASAP for planning purposes.
Nik suggested anyone interested in participating in the IMAC event this summer at the field go on line (www.mini-iac.com) or contact him for information regarding requirements. Sign up can be the day of the event, but pre-registration on the IMAC site is preferred.
Nik reported the stickers for Hobby Shop stock advertising the club and training were going forward and would be on the stock shortly. He also noted that the “steal me” stickers for magazines were on his due list…
SHOW AND TELL:
Jim Grant showed a just completed 1/2A Texaco – a 1930’s Hornet powered by a Cox Baby Bee. Claims he should get 15 minute flights with good thermals!
Jarrett Heileman showed a Great Planes Patriot with a Rossi 25 with pipe that will fly at 150mph.
50/50 for March was won by Nik Zinsli who donated his $11 back to the club – Thanks Nik.
March attendance winner was Jim Heist who took home a new fuel tank.
