OLD BUSINESS:
Danny Osborn reported on TAG program:
42 people signed in for flights (40 flew) – by far the largest turnout ever!
Spent $87.93 on food and collected $38.59 (event cost $49.38)
Coffee maker and shears purchased to round out our kitchen ($45.98)

Nik reported we made $39.60 on our “non dues” revenue generator at Buffalo Wild Wings Sunday, May 20.  A total of about 10 people participated. Not bad for “free money” but a little disappointing it was not more. We will hold another in the fall at the 44th St. location.

Nik reported on the Work Day for fence repair and thanked all that participated.

Nik reported on cancellation of Air Zoo activity.  It was the Air Zoo that cancelled the event and it is unknown at this time if the event will be rescheduled.

Dan McLaren reported that the change in flying times for Sundays is not yet in effect.  Our flying times are governed by our lease agreement with the property owners.  Although I have stopped by and left a formal request they have not yet responded.  Until they do, we must remain at the 1:00pm start time for Sunday flying.  We also asked if we could erect a sign out by the road identifying this as the KRAM field. This request is also pending.

NEW BUSINESS:
Danny Osborn reported that Ron Ricketson donated a number of items from a fully finished plane to transmitters to field support items.  These will be auctioned at the Memorial Fly-In with the proceeds donated to the club.

Mark Schmaltz reminded everyone that the set-up for the Memorial Fly-In will start at 8:00am with a Pilot Meeting between 9:00 and 10:00.  All are reminded to bring a dish to pass. Nik noted that there will be some pilot prizes. All pilots will get a ticket and can buy additional tickets for prizes.

Dave Pierce noted that the ad for the Swap Shop will appear in two fall issues of the AMA magazine.  The raffle plane will be on display at the Memorial Fly-In and tickets will be on sale.

Nik called for a round table of suggestions that would improve the club.  The following were the items presented:
George Orphan – camera and weather station displayed on the web site so one could see if anyone was flying and what the wind and weather was like at the field from home.  (Nik challenged him to investigate what it might take to accomplish.)

Danny Osborn would like to see more fun flys. He will coordinate with Mark to set some up.

Jarret Heileman would like donut drops.

Sean Van Heulen would like T shirts with wings… (sorry I missed this discussion)

Ed Bradley would like more family events including wives and kids.

Ed Buck wants to finalize the Sunday flying hours so flyers can beat the wind.

Allen Simpson would like a contact list for technical issues published so people would know where to seek help.  Mark suggested just posting a question to the email list and see who responds…

Mike Murphy suggested a fall field trip to Muncie to see and fly at the National Site.

Bill Van Heulen (new member) asked if we had a “build night”.  Although response was limited last winter, Mark Schmaltz offered to host in his garage if there is interest later this year.

Tim Power would like a GIANT AIR FRESHENER installed at the field.

Dave Pierce would like to investigate having a scale event at the club.

Mark Schmaltz would like to investigate hosting an IMAC or F3 event at the club in 2013.

Nik would like to establish a lending library of books & DVDs on technical issues and flight teachings.  A motion was made by Dan McLaren and seconded to authorize Nik to spend up to $100 on books & DVD’s and establish a process for lending and tracking the items from the library.  He will report back next month.

Show and Tell
Nik showed the materials he received from the IMAC presentation he attended a couple of weeks ago.  He also showed his new 48″ Extreme Flight Extra.  It’s very well made and flies well in pattern and 3D. It can be flown with a 3s lipo, but is much happier on a 4s.

50/50 for June of $14 won by Mike Murphy

June attendance winner was Ed Bradley who got a free bottle of CA.

Next meeting:  July 3, 2012 at 7:00pm at the field

Meeting adjourned.
    Motion by:  Allen Simpson
    Seconded by:  Ed Buck

Respectively Submitted,

Dan McLaren
