It's that time of year again to search under the couch cushions and renew your dues for the club and AMA. A reminder that your AMA dues are to be sent directly to AMA, as KRAM is no longer sending in renewals for club members.
I also want to encourage you to make sure your contact information is up-to-date. Of the 100+ members currently active, I only have about 80 active email addresses on our mailing list. If you haven't been getting club emails of the monthly minutes and other things, please send Nik and email with your name, old email address and new email address so we can update the list. And, if you've moved or changed phone numbers this year, please contact Dan McLaren to make sure we have that updated info. Thanks!

Are you passionate about model aviation? Do you share AMA's belief that unnecessary and
onerous Federal regulation will diminish this viable and meaningful recreational activity?
If your answer is, YES, then...
Go to modelaircraft.org/gov as soon as you can. There you'll find:
• Background on what FAA intends to impose on aeromodeling.
• Understand the difference between commercial and recreational sUAS.
• What you can do to help.
• Resources to help you contact your Representatives and Senators in Congress.
• How to contact AMA's Advocacy Team.
• Donate to our cause to defend your right to fly model aircraft without government oversight.
Now is the time to let your voice be heard!
Come one come all to our first build night! Here's the who what when where why...
WHO: Well, you...of course!
WHAT: KRAM Build Night
WHEN: Wednesday, January 12th @ 6pm
WHERE: Mark Schmaltzs' garage
1205 JANE ELLEN DR
Lowell, MI 49311
WHY: Why, to build of course! And learn, and teach, and socialize, and...?
Over half a dozen people braved the unseasonable no-skis-required, but windy enough to fly backwards New Years Day tradition. Temps were around 30°, with 20+mph winds, gusting to 35. Danny was first up in his bipe, which took about 3 feet to get airborne. His slow passes sometimes went farther backwards than forwards! Nik was next up with his new Stryker. It penetrated the wind with ease and downwind passes were a blur! Ed Bradley attempted to fly his drainpipe & corrugated plastic plane, only to tumble wingtip over wingtip on takeoff 5x farther than it flew! By then, Dan McLaren got a fire started in the barrel under the protection of our shed. Coffee and sloppy joes by Roz by the fire warmed everyone up. John & Jase Dussia showed up shortly after and flew their 50cc Yak. They traded off the transmitter to each other as their fingers began to freeze, but still put on a good show!

Our club was featured in this months' AMA Model Aviation Distrct 7 report! Our successful first TAG event was mentioned, as well as the club improvement money we were awarded that allowed us to build our shelter. Thanks to Mr. Oberdieck for the writeup and to Mr. Osborn for sending in the info & pictures! Full-size article available for download at the bottom of this page.
